Bosque Animal Clinic - Our Team

Leah

Clinic Manager

My name is Leah and I have been a Bosque dog since May 2017. I have been an animal lover my entire life! It is truly my obsession. A few years ago, my son Adrien and I moved to Bosque Farms to be in a more rural area where pets, livestock, and wildlife are a bit more common than in the city. Since beginning my career in veterinary medicine I have grown so much both personally and professionally. This is truly where I belong! My son and my pets mean the world to me and your pet is just as important. I love being able to serve the community this way and I love my team. When I was a little girl my mom got me a German Shepherd and I named him Adidas. He was and still is my heart and soul dog, he helped shape me into the person I am today. He lived to be about 15 years old and we lost him in February of 2018. It is still hard for me but his love and the time that I did spend with him has helped me in a way that in turn has benefited so many other animals. I have a lot of pets and they are all incredibly special to me. I hope to be a veterinary professional for my entire life and one day would love to specialize in behavior. It is amazing to me that every animal has its own unique personality. I have also grown very fond of cats since I have been working at the clinic and am almost certain I will end up the crazy cat lady when I am old.

Isabella

Technician Team Leader

My Position at BAC is a Veterinary Assistant, I started working here in July of 2017. After high school, I attended and graduated from PIMA for my Veterinary Technician certificate. I have always had an interest in animals and love helping all animals in anyway. My favorite thing is watching patients grow and also being able to watch animals walk away happy and healthy.

I was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM in the South Valley and moved to Los Lunas in 2000 with my parents. My parents are Romana and Hector Sr. I have two older brothers Michael and Hector Jr, one younger brother Jonnyray, and my fiancé Vicente. We moved into our house 1 year ago, we now have a 2-month-old baby boy named Vicente Jr. Our oldest fur baby Bruno passed away in September, we miss him every day. Our fur babies are Jayah, Gemini, Drako. We have two cats Hazel and Pellet. We love our fur babies.

When I am not working with animals at work, I am with my son and fiancé. We love the outdoors. I love to read when I have time to myself. My animals are everything to us and love to play around the yard. Family is everything!

Jacquelyn

Veterinary Assistant

My position at Bosque Animal Clinic is Veterinary Assistant. I started working at the clinic June of 2020. Growing up I was always around various kinds of animals, but mainly dogs. My favorite thing is to be able to help see patients thrive in health and being back to their normal happy selves.

I was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After graduating high school in 2017 in Yorktown, Virginia, I went immediately into a Veterinary Clinic and have been working in this field since then. I lived in New Mexico from 2005-2009 and only recently moved back in 2018. I have two horses Vesta and Lucy, one guinea pig named Dahlia, and five dogs- Rose, Cj, Bailey, Chief, and Molly.

When I’m not working I enjoy going horseback riding. I specialize in Jumping and Barrel Racing. I also enjoy going on hikes with Cj and Bailey, as well as swimming with them in summers. I am currently enrolled at Penn Foster to earn my Veterinary Technician License.

Crystal

Customer Service Representative

I have been a Veterinary Assistant at Bosque Animal Clinic since 2016. I went to school and graduated from PIMA Medical Institute in 2016. Bosque Animal Clinic has and always will be a part of my family. I am from Isleta, New Mexico and Santo Domingo Pueblo to be more specific. I have 2 crazy, naughty fur-babies at home. Artimus is my 9 year old miniature pinscher that is very feisty as he is getting older. Barnabas is my 3 year old German shepherd mix that loves to lay on your feet and doesn’t know how big he is. He thinks he is the size of his little BIG brother. I love my boys with all my heart. I plan to have more pets in the future.

What I do at the clinic in addition to taking care of all your fur baby’s needs, I deal with anything and everything that has to do with our machines that assist in diagnostics, therapy and surgery. Something breaks or is giving one of our amazing TECHS or DOCTOR a hard time, I am there to beat it till it works. My interest in the Veterinary field is to gain more education and experience with ophthalmic and rehabilitation cases. I plan on going back to school to become a RVT and to move forward as a specialist in one or both of my interests. I am also the laser safety officer when it comes to our cold laser therapy that we offer here at the clinic. I love the outcome we have had with our patients and will continue to educate myself to better my understanding on how we can make your aching furry friend back to their happy crazy self. Do or do not, there is no try. - Yoda.

Makenzie

Veterinary Assistant

Hi! My name is Makenzie Everett and I have always had a passion for helping and caring for animals ever since I was a little girl. My position here at Bosque Animal Clinic is a Veterinary Assistant. I grew up mostly in Los Lunas and Albuquerque, but a little of my childhood was also in Texas. I recently graduated from Pima Medical Institute in Colorado Springs.

I have two dogs one named Gidget and the other named Loki, they are absolutely my world! I also have a ferret named Lotus.

When I’m not at the clinic I enjoy hiking with my dogs and spending time with my family. We play cards and love to go fishing together. I am very grateful to be working with such an amazing team here at Bosque Animal Clinic. I can’t wait to see the things we can accomplish!

Andrew

Kennel Assistant

Andrew is Dr. McKinney's oldest son.  She was pregnant and had him her senior year in vet school.  Despite that he still is quite squeamish and does NOT want to grow up to be a veterinarian.   He comes in daily and helps with the end of the day cleaning and any little projects that need addressed for the busy team.  So, if you see a tall kid running around the clinic don't be alarmed, we claim him.

Nicole

Veterinary Technician

Hi, my name is Nicole and I am a Veterinary Technician at Bosque Animal Clinic.  I started at BAC in July 2018 as a CSR after moving to New Mexico.  I then attended CNM’s Veterinary Technology Program to become a credentialed Veterinary Technician because I love working with people and their companion animals, and seeing pets live healthy and happy lives.

I enjoy working at Bosque because we work as a team to provide compassionate care to all pets.  Veterinary medicine is an amazing field as there is always something new and exciting every day, and I aim to always learn and improve my ability to help animals.  My medical interests include preventative medicine and client education, general care, and surgeries.  Animals have always been my passion, and my ambition is to be a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in the near future.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my partner, Chris, and all our fur-babies.  Our current family includes our playful dogs- Luke and Leia, our feisty kitties – Blush, Merlot, Pudsie and Teensy, and some backyard chickens!  In my free time I love to read, paint, play video games, and garden.

Kristina

Customer Service Representative

My position here at Bosque Animal Clinic is as a Customer Service Representative. I started working here in 2017.

I was born and raised in Los Lunas, New Mexico. Everything I know and love is here. I am currently attending UNM to become a Speech Therapist.

Ever since I was a kid I have always had a love for animals. I’ve had almost every animal you could think of from hamsters, to fish, to ferrets. You name it, I’ve probably had it at least once in my life. Animals have always been a passion of mine.

In my family I have 4 fur babies. Buck who is an 8-year old mixed breed. He is the boss of the other 2 dogs I have and he is so loveable. My other dog is Bode a 7-year old Rottweiler mix. Bode is a goof ball and still thinks he is a puppy and is very protective. My other dog is Nova who is a 6-year old Boxer. Nova is an even bigger goof ball who is very spoiled and loves to play with her two brothers. Last but certainly not least is my cat Calliope. She is a year old and is very ornery! I love all my fur babies so much and they all have very different personalities.

Lindsey

Customer Service Representative Team Leader

I started working as a Customer Service Representative at Bosque Animal Clinic in February of 2019. I graduated from The University of New Mexico- Valencia with an Associates Degree in General Science. My future goals are to complete the Pre-Vet Program at New Mexico State and to graduate from Colorado State as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Of course, life has its own plans in store for me and right now am I just enjoying my time with my family and thriving at Bosque Animal Clinic. I am married to my loving husband Jess and together we have two rambunctious boys Aiden 7 years old and Easton 3 years old. Our fur family includes “Molly” our Pitbull, “Gus” our German Shorthaired Pointer and “Toby” our Tabby cat. Early this year we had to say goodbye to the first baby I ever had (human or fur) “Weezy”. It was the hardest decision I have ever had to make in my lifetime, and I miss him dearly every single day. My pets have had their share of problems. Molly is fighting cancer the type she has is squamous cell carcinoma. She is currently on a trial medication and is doing great. Molly has no new tumors! Gus had to go through Heartworm Treatment and is now Negative! Toby is a kitten and has had no problems! Thank goodness… he did destroy our Christmas tree though. I know how important it is to be a compassionate and understanding Customer Service Representative especially during hard times. My goal and hope is that people and pets leave BAC feeling like family.
