Dr. Samantha McKinney
Samantha McKinney is a 2005 graduate of Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She is originally from Las Cruces, NM and had practiced in Farmington, NM for six years before becoming co-owner of Bosque Animal Clinic in 2011. As of October 2016, she is the sole owner of Bosque Animal Clinic.
Her family consists of 4 dogs Paisley, Mazie, Bonnie, and Dixie; two cats Hunter and Peaches; a ball python Medusa; an albino leopard gecko Artimus; an Green Amazon Parrot Ozzy; and one goats Coco. She also has two active, growing, boys Andrew and Ryan who help take care of the McKinney Zoo. As you can imagine she’s a pretty busy woman!
Her professional interests include canine and feline internal medicine, dentistry, and pocket pets with a specific focus on ferrets. She cherishes being a veterinarian of a small community as it allows her to foster friendships and see many pets through all life stages.
Dr. McKinney is a breast cancer survivor. In 2015 at the age of 36 she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. After multiple surgeries, radiation and chemotherapy she is now CANCER FREE. She is happy to discuss her experiences with anybody as she knows first-hand how scary it can be to be diagnosed with cancer.
